Shopify account login
This sale is the Shopify account itself, not just the store and its assets.
The buyer signs in to the seller's own Shopify account and the store never moves, so it keeps its account history, app installs and Shopify Payments standing. That continuity is the appeal, and it is why this needs more diligence than a normal store transfer.
Three things to settle with the seller before you offer
- You inherit the account as-is, including a payment gateway verified against the seller's identity. Have Shopify Support move the Shopify Payments business representative, business details and payout bank account to you as soon as the account is yours.
- Agree how the seller loses access: password, two-factor, recovery email and phone, staff and collaborator accounts, and the billing card. An account the seller can still recover is not yet yours.
- Check during inspection that there is no Shopify Capital advance, no active Shopify Balance, and no restriction or review already open against the account or its payment gateway.
