Transferring TikTok and Pinterest ad accounts with a store

The same three-setup logic as Meta — dedicated, shared, agency — with Business Center and Pinterest business access in place of Business Manager, and the organic accounts carrying real weight.

Updated 16 July 2026

TikTok and Pinterest borrowed Meta's structure: a business container (TikTok Business Center, Pinterest business access) holding ad accounts, pixels/tags and profiles. So the Meta transfer logic carries over almost verbatim — figure out whether the setup is dedicated, shared or agency-held, and the playbook follows. The differences worth knowing are below.

TikTok: Business Center, and why the organic account matters more

A dedicated Business Center transfers like a dedicated BM: add the buyer as admin, confirm they hold admin on the ad account, pixel and TikTok account, swap billing, seller exits. Shared or agency setups follow the Meta inversion — the buyer brings their own Business Center, and the pixel and profiles get shared or moved. Two TikTok-specific notes: agency-managed ad accounts are unusually common (especially in the EU, where many stores run through resellers), so establish who actually owns the account before pricing it; and Spark Ads run through posts on the organic TikTok account — if that account doesn't transfer, the ad format the store depends on goes with it. Transfer the TikTok profile itself: change the linked email and phone to the buyer's, then the buyer resets password and 2FA.

Pinterest: business access, tag, boards

Pinterest's business access panel handles the handover: the seller invites the buyer to the business account with admin on the ad account, the buyer swaps billing, the seller leaves. The Pinterest tag re-verifies against the domain — coordinate with the DNS handover. The organic side (profile, boards, saved content) moves by changing the account's email to the buyer's and resetting credentials; for content-led stores those boards are often worth more than the ad history.

Shared and agency setups: same rule as everywhere

If the ad account runs other stores too, it stays behind — share the pixel/tag data where the platform supports it, move the organic profiles, export the creatives, and start a fresh ad account under the buyer. Price the deal on what actually moves, not on the account that doesn't.

TikTok's and Pinterest's policies change and are applied at their discretion — check each platform's own documentation for the current process. EcomFlips never performs transfers and never asks for account credentials.
